The Falkirk Highlands have unusual animals and building styles.
The Clan Castle was located on a high plateau. It contained an ancient Temple, complete with a Gate, a central high tower and walls. However, a Black Jewelled Warlord-Prince went mad during the Purge and leveled the entire mountain top (and a few neighboring peaks as well). While greatly increasing the arable land, only the catacombs remain of the ancient edifice. . The destruction blasted giant boulders throughout the area, which are used for dwellings.
The Clan Keep is burrowed into these catacombs on the surviving high plateau, and ledges. It includes several water falls, a tiny lake, and a year-round river. The Falkirk river, as it emerges from the mountain's heart, has carved out the caves the Clan leadership currently call home.
The top of the plateau is used for grazing tough, hardy goats and scrawny cattle. Sometimes it grows even tougher, hardier crops.
The black jeweled Warlord-Prince Cumhal Falkirk who went mad during the Purge is claimed as a relative by all Fallkirk clansmen, Landen and Blood alike. Given the myths about him, it could even be true. The Blood call him Cumhal the Destroyer, the Landen, Cumhal the Provider.

The Highlands produce hardy, furry, small livestock. They have Grey chickens, grey cats, and grey horses. The Highland Ponies are large enough to make formidable warhorses. They also produce both herd dogs, and the famous Falkirk Hell Hound -they will escort you to Hell.
Falkirk Hellhound is used to both protect the family home, and to assist a war-band. They are fiercely loyal and very protective of both their people and their territory. They are large beasts with a fifteen year lifespan. If raised with other animals they can be quite social, but they are not herd dogs. For herding, the Falkirks use either the Highland a Collie, or the Highland Bearded Shepherd.
